Green's battery, Light Artillery was a Confederate battery from Kentucky. It is listed and there are service records of the officers and men in the National Archives microfilm records, M 319.

Again, only one member was named Green and he was a private.

The first engagement for Green's battery was Fort Donelson, Tn. They were surrendered on Feb, 16, 1862, along with most of the garrison. Some of the members of the battery escaped and later joined other commands. Those captured went to POW camps and were exchanged near Vicksburg in late 1862.

My question is, who is the "Green" for whom the battery is named?
