I'm a bit puzzled by the tone of this thread. Many references made to Kentucky being 'lost' and how it might have been 'regained'.

Might I point out that Kentucky never seceded? The only time it was in Confederate hands was when it was invaded and a puppet government installed.

Kentucky never rightfully 'belonged' to the Confederacy. It rightfully 'belonged' where the majority of its people wanted to stay, which was with the Union.

If I'm misunderstanding the discussion, I beg your pardon, but it did seem that this point needed to be clarified.

I am from Kentucky, btw.
