hospitals, cemeteries in LA in 1863

I am trying to locate a possible burial place for E. C. Malone of Co. G, Arkansas 11th and 17th. He is listed as "sick in hospital" 30 April 1863 on the military records I have for him. I have found correspondence from Col. John Logan in the OR indicating the 11th was near Clinton, LA about this time. In a letter dated 21 May 1863 Logan is writing from "near Mrs. Nuttenell's, Bayou Sara Road." E. C. Malone never shows up in records again after this "sick in hospital" entry, and I'm assuming he died. His niece (my grandmother) told me his family never knew what happened to him. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where the hospital might have been, or what cemeteries would have been close? Or other sources I can search? Thank you.
