This is the same road block I've had since I began researching H. M. Strickland. Could this be a fraudulant claim for a veterans pension and was that common back then?
Also on his pension application it asks for two of his comrades and he lists a F.S. Strickland and the second name I can't make out.His witnesses were W.D Stewart and S.L. Carroll. Fraud is the only thing I can think of.
