I have info on Thomas Francis Newman after the Civil War. I possibly could be researching the wrong Newman. I am related through his 3rd wife Cestine Fontenot. We know by research that he was originaly from Cleveland Ohio. From the records others have collected, his signature on his war papers they say is the same as marraige records. Their is so much mystery about him it is truly fascinating. He also lived around the St. Landry and Acadia parishes.

I will continue to research and gather more positive info.
