Roy,

There are frequent mentions during the Red River Campaign of Union soldiers coming across members of "Quantrill's Raiders" here in Louisiana. I was always under the impression that this was from CS soldiers/deserters just telling the Yankees this to intimidate them, but now I'm wondering. Were any of Quantrill's people involved in the Red River Campaign? The references to these soldiers do give the indication that they were not a very formally organized bunch.
