Most likely there were a few others killed and wounded at this engagement in addition to the soldier listed above.Lyndsley says that after the initial investment,the 9th.Battalion was sent down the road towards Port Hudson and drove back a Rhode Island cavalry regiment sent up by Banks to relieve the post.
