Pointe Coupee Artillery fatality at Fort Pemberton

I am trying to determine the identity of a Confederate soldier who was killed during the Battle of Fort Pemberton, near Greenwood, Mississippi, on March 13, 1863. According to the official report of General William Loring (the commanding officer of the Confederates), a shell fired from a Union gunboat (part of the flotilla comprising General Grant's "Yazoo Pass Expedition") on the Tallahatchie River exploded over a Rebel gun behind the breastwork in the fort, wounding three artillerymen, of which one died several hours later. A website claims that a soldier named Pvt. P. (Peter) McKittrick, of the Pointe Coupee Artillery, had died at Fort Pemberton. Another source, however, claims that Peter was later taken prisoner at Vicksburg (July, '63) and he ultimately survived the war, eventually dying in 1898 (I have seen a picture of his headstone verifying that fact). A "Benjamin McKittrick" (probably Peter's brother) also fought in the war, and the last known reference to him is an 1862 report, so he was possibly the victim at Fort Pemberton.

Does anybody know anything about a Pointe Coupee Artillery fatality at Fort Pemberton on March 13, 1863?
