Steve, I would definitely point out the errors to whomever I could, although you're right about tomorrow probably not being the best time. They're all going to be quite busy and preoccupied with the opening. I'm pretty certain it's not an intentional thing to slant history, etc., but just ignorance on the part of the consultants, etc., plus having to use reproduction items because of money constraints (although you'd think they might could use some genuine items out of other state museums). My experience with State Parks was very positive in the sense of them trying to get the history right. It might help to inform the personnel at Mansfield and Port Hudson of the errors and get them involved in trying to correct the errors. I'm sure they share your horror at the glaring mistakes.
