They may also know of a local seamstress who can make a colonel's or general's uniform for a reasonable rate; local Camps often have information about local artisans. Another good contact for you might be the LA Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, whose personnel might be able to direct you to a member or reenactor who portrays a colonel or general.
