Re: Ragsdale's Battalion muster rolls...

This should suffice,

Descriptive List [undated]
Joseph Hardy, Private, (2d) Company A, Daly's Battalion Texas Mounted Troops, enlisted March 20, 1864 at Calcasieu by S. T. Sewell, description on enlistment, 22 year old Farmer, hazel eyes, light hair, fair complexion, 5' 7", born in St. Mary County, La., resident of Calcasieu, remarks: Yellow Jacket Battalion

Letter attached to list shows: "Enrolling Office Calcasieu Parish, La., Charieston, August 11, 1864. Brig. Gen. Gray: I herewith send you a Descriptive List of a few men** of your command that have gone and joined the Co. of Capt. S. T. Seawell of Daly's Battalion at Sabine Pass. That is, the said men have been enlisted by said Capt. Seawell of Company A, Daly's Battalion Texas M. T. * * The said men all belonged to the Col. Clack's and Yellow Jacket Batt. and were all at home absent without leave from their said commands
W. W. Johnson, Capt. & En. Off. Calcasieu Parish, La.

I suggest you order his files which contain this and the other documents I've shown. They may be procured through the service noted in the Red enclosed box above.

These should be included with your application for a VA monument. Also, contact your nearest Sons of Confederate Veteran Camp to assist you.

Best wishes,

George Martin
