This narrative places Red River Landing on the west bank of the Mississippi River about 1/2 mile below the mouth of the Red River. If the Louisiana Highway map is accurate, this would place the actual landing site almost due south of the modern community of Torras along State Route 3190 and not quite halfway down to the new bridge.
