Col.Miles S.Vernon was the oldest of 5 children of,
Thomas III&Nancy "Nannie"(Hicks)Vernon.Thomas Vernon III
b.May 23,1752 d.1841 in Pond Springs(now Sweet Water),
Monroe county,TN.,and was in the Revolutionary War as a
private 14th Regiment and the 10th Virginia Regiment,they
fought at Stony Point.
Children of Thomas III&Nancy(Hicks)Vernon
1- Miles Standish Vernon col.of the Militia b.Mar.26,1786
2- Elizabeth Vernon b.1789 mar.Thomas Atchley.
3- William Harrison Vernon b.Feb.26,1790 mar.Mary Vernon
4- Thomas Vernon IV b.July,1793 mar.Lettica Keziah Witten
5-**Robert Hicks Vernon b.Oct.31,1799 mar.,in Hardeman

county,TN.,Nancy Eppes Chisum and had 10 ch.,all born

in Hardeman county,TN.
