Re: Clardy's Battalion/Henderson Chitwood

There is official correspondence in the Official Records that mentions your Lt Chitwood. It is dated 8 Jan 1865 from Pilot Knob MO to Col HM Hillr of St Louis District. In short it states that a Captain Lonergran has reliable information that Parson Pratt and Lt Chitwood and about 40 rebels were rendezvousing and conscripting at the forks of Logan's Creek in Reynolds County.

Parson Pratt was Captain Jesse R. Pratt of 15th MO Cav and my GGG Grandfather. He was also a Baptist preacher.
