My daughter went to the National Archives hoping to find documents on William Field Hill using the Microfilm # & Roll # provided, but she only could find his name. There were no documents.

Would documents, disclosing information on his desertion and reenlistment, be found in the Archives in St. Louis, or could these documents have been destroyed.

The research is turning into a lesson in history, and I'm thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.
