Moses McCoy of Clay county was married to Lurencia/Lurena (Aulder) McCoy. Lurena was arrested 5-15-1863 for aiding and abetting bushwackers, namely Louis Vandiver and Joseph Hart. Apparently she was also accused of providing clothing. She bought trimings an notions at Nowlin's Store (in Missouri City, operated by B W Nowlin). She hired a Mrs Elizabeth Wallis to cut and make a coat for her older brother James and then had no money to pay for it. A similar tale is told about a James Moffert/Moffet hired to make clothes for her brother by Lydia Ann Aulder/Alder. In any case, Lurena ends up in St. Louis on 5-22-1863 makes a statement that she thought she was in trouble for feeding bushwackers and sells the tale that she fed anyone who came to her door Union or Confederate and didn't realize that was wrong. Gives the Oath of Allegience and is subsequently paroled all at the ripe old age of 19. She ends up eventually getting bannished beyond Union lines again in St. Louis on 1-29-1865.

Lurena is the daughter of David Paul Alder (b 11 Sep 1802, Virginia d 8 June 1885) and Lydia Ann Wall (b 15 June 1813 Ohio d 27 Dec 1864 MO). She was born in Ohio 7 May 1843. She married Moses McCoy on 2 Jan 1859.

Missouri City was actually known as Atchison (not Richfield) pror to the war and lies on Missouri Route 210 7-8 miles east of Liberty right on the Missouri River.
