I regret to report that Richard C. Peterson, co-author of Sterling Price's Lieutenants, and an expert on the Missouri State Guard, Missouri's Confederates, and Price's Raid, died yesterday of heart failure in Memphis at age 52. He is survived by his wife, Ann. Richard was a fine person, possessed a towering intellect, and will be sorely missed in the civil war community.
