How interesting that the Hodges also came to Johnson County from Lincoln County, KY! And, my ggg-grandfather, John C. Gilbert, also served in the war of 1812--Capt. Abr'm Miller's Co. of Inf., 6 Reg't Kentucky Mtd. Vol Militia--from August to November, 1813. John C. Gilbert was married to Elizabeth Huston in 1833. She was born in Lincoln Co., KY, and died there in 1846. I'm almost certain that the two families were at least acquainted--probably even before coming to Missouri. In the family history written by my Aunt (see previous posts in this thread), there is a picture of Georgia Hodge Killingsworth, who it says married one of her teachers and went to California. She also says that a Gilbert Hodge died when a gun discharged as he climbed through a fence. There are no dates or other information given, but the families must be tied together some way or the other!
