Terry, it is very interesting Robert M. Renick did not appear to have a "Loss of Estate", as did your ancestor. Robert appears to have been very well connected, as he is mentioned in William T. Sherman's "Memoirs of General W. T. Sherman". When Sherman was in St. Louis seeking reinforcements, he met with R. M. Renick "at the Planters' House" and inquired where he could find General Fremont.
