The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Ambrose & Asa Davis Clinton Co.

Thanks Bruce,
That info is probably all that is recorded and will ever be known. Most other civillian incounters during the war often ended the same with uniformed troops involved.
A large balance of my Ancestors living during the Civil War were located in Northern Arkansas. My Folks had been self sufficent and depending on no one for a long time, their fight was to survive and they worked really hard at stay out of it, as the war drug on picking sides or changing sides to benefit the farm and family became the only way to stay alive.
Missouri and Arkansas were rough places to be nuetral at that time with everyone was tugging at you 24/7.
My ggGrandparents moved back and forth from Newton Co. AR to Barry Co. MO a couple of times before the CW. Finally settling in AR during the CW.
To answer your question; There will always be questions!!
Thanks again for the information.
