Maybe someone here can help me out. I have a copy of a May 5, 1976 photo that appeared in the Kirksville Daily Express showing attendees at a reunion of the survivors of the Battle of Kirksville. It's noted that one of the men is "Grand Dad Brawner." His given name is not listed, but I believe this is John S. Brawner, my late husband's great-grandfather. I'm working on a Civil War genealogy project for my grandchildren and would like to know his military unit and anything else that can shed some light. Thanks.
