Alan and R.D., thanks for the info. I'm familiar with the Prairie Grove area and have been around the grounds several times. My GGGgrandfather Ptolema Philadelpious Brown was part of the 1st Arkansas Cavalry (USA) scattered by Quantrill's men that fateful day. My other GGGgrandfather Green Berry Harris was with Captain Pinnell's company under Mitchell's 8th Missouri Infantry (CSA).
I always wondered who had been part of the command which sent the 1st Ark. Cav. packing that day.
