Re: Johnson McCormack/8th MO Cavalry Query:

Hello Misty Glasgow, -- Just saw your Posting of the 8th MO. Vol. Cavalry, U.S. My GGF, Andrew Allen Biggs served in the same Regiment. I purchased the Book - The Civil War Letters of Albert Demuth and Roster Eight Missouri Volunteer Cavalry a couple years back and have been researching as much as I can find on the 8th MO. Vol. Cavalry. YES, there are -2- spellings of a Russell M. McCormack [and spelled - McCormick] with Co. C., as a Pvt., age 31, Enlisted Aug. 5, 1862 in Springfield, MO. -- Did not find a Johnson McCormack /McCormick listed. The closest names to that spelling are: Israel A. McCommas, William S. McCommas and this could be spelled McCommes according to the listing. Taking it a littler further, I searched the 1st names as well and did not find any Johnson, a lot of John's and initals, but nothing close to Johnson.
Misty, I've got a handful of 3x5 index cards that when I run across a member of the 8th MO. Cavalry and it shows where they are buried at, I write it down. At the moment, I would have to litterly dig to find them, but, if you know where Russell McCormack/McCormick is buried at, would you please advise me? E-mail me directly at my e-mail address: rabiggs4243@sbcglobal.net Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Thank YOU, Ralph Biggs by name,,,,, "Manning by DNA" [Just Proved this out!]
