This is the only Thomasson I found in the 6th Missouri Infantry.

Thomas Thomasson, 19 year old Farmer, born in Scott County, Missouri, resident of Benton, Scott County, Private, Company D, 6th Missouri Infantry, enlisted January 2, 1862 at New Madrid by Captain Harris for the duration of the war, left at Oxford Hospital, July 3, 1862, remaining absent through October, 1862, returning to duty prior to year's end, captured at Port Gibson May 1, 1863, sent to Military Prison, Alton, Illinois arriving May 18, 1863, exchanged June, 1863 at City Point, Virginia, receipted for an issue of clothing June 29, 1863, Remarks: Served in M. S. G. at Battle of Frederictown, Port Gibson, recorded as with Virginia Army following exchange, no further records
