In Response To: O.R. Garbage ()

I have to admit the O.R. reports are not always 100% reliable. I have read several accounts of many men resembling infamous Dick Yeager. Also as he would have been a prize catch, he seemed to show up frequently as wounded, mortally wounded, dead, reincarnated, and rekilled. Some people just don't stay dead in these accounts. Also as some of the accounts quote other prior accounts, it is difficult at best to discern just when they did happen, if in fact they did at all. Most post war accounts make all units look like the entire regiment should be given the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mostly saving face for poor leadership, sometimes avoiding the appearance of incompetence, and at other times due to misinformation of subordinates when compiling their final reports. That's why we research alla ccounts, see what the majority imply, compare with those of the opposite side if available and rationalize what could actually have happened. History is only as good as who tells it. The winners generally tend to when out in the end.
