Good points all. Its an issue that has followed well into present day conflicts. I guess the old fashioned technique of seeing if both parties written accounts agree with each other will have to suffice. I guess it would be fair to say that the Union forces were having some sucess after Prices raid in the sense that there were less attacks on Union soldiers and Unionists.
