There was a Union camp, probably EMM or similar, 13 miles north of Scopus, past Sedgewickville in extreme southern Perry County, but basically along old roadways that existed during the CW. The camp is memorialized by Campground Cemetery, west of Biehle, on the South Fork of Apple Creek. The camp was reportedly near there and may represent a gathering ground for Unionists in a very disturbed area. There are a number of Union men buried there, including one who was captured twice by guerrillas, wounded the first time and murdered the second. I'll see if I can dig up his name.
