Well, that's what came to mind at first. Offhand, I don't recall a large guerrilla group based at the interersection of those four counties, but off and on there was guerrilla activity there. Maybe Homer knows about this, as he reads this forum, too, and has lots of Civil War knowledge of the Benton County area. Sometimes Union military records called southern combatants "guerrillas" when they were really recruiting commands with new men.
