Re: Morgan County October 10,1863

Thank you, John. That Ephraim Wilson will be interesting to check out. The Ephraim who was father to William R. died between 1830 and 1840, and William's son Ephraim was born in 1848.
In regard to Robert Wilson, there was a Robert Adams Wilson who owned property on the Moreau Creek near William R. and the Mullins (Mullens) family. He lived near Versailles and owned slaves. He was killed by bushwhackers in 1863- assumed to be a northern gang, but given the raids on Florence and Versailles by the Jobe, Wilson, Mullens gang during this time, it is hard to be sure. One report of the period said everyone within 12 miles of their base, regardless of politics, had been robbed. The other Robert (R.) Wilson in the 1860 census was from a PA OH family. It is his father David Wilson whose store I am trying to locate. David sold the first property to the Mennonites in 1866 (my husband's family). His store was robbed October 10 1863 by Paddy Mullins as the federal troops were busy in Tipton with Joseph Shelby's attack. He moved to Tipton that day and remained there for the rest of his life.
