Thanks Bruce. What brought up this topic....I'm trying to help someone figure out what happened to Albert Gallatin Gregg. He was postmaster at Lynch's Prairie, now part of Springdale, AR and he was a brother to Lafayette Gregg of Fayetteville who was a Union colonel. I can't find any record of Albert serving in either army from Arkansas or Missouri, but one article they have says he was killed at (or near) Clinton, Missouri in early 1862. Haven't found anything else to substantiate that.
