Cole Younger claimed that after riding with Quantrill he rode with Shelby. While writing my book "Ride Around Missouri: Shelby's Great Raid 1863", I came across no evidence of this, but then again I wasn't really researching Cole. Nor have I seen any evidence presented in any books about the James-Younger gang. So. . .is there any support for this story or is this just another case of Cole gilding the lily?
