In so far as all my research into Shelby and his Brigade about the only time that Cole Younger could have served with Shelby was in the Winter of 62-63 but as Bruce said Cole elected to stay behind to attend to some wounded men when Quantrell moved south and joined up with Shelby's Brigade under Marmaduke. Cole was at Lone Jack where a good deal of the Jackson County Regiment (12th Mo.) fought, but Shelby was in his county on that day organizing his regiment the 5th Mo.
