It was Co K, 5th Reg MSM, organized by Capt Wm Flentge, mustered into service at Cape Girardeau, by Capt L. Murdock as Co D, 12th MSM Calvary, which was broken up in accordance to GO, No 5, HQ, and consolidated with the 13th, forming the 5th MSM.

My ancestor was from Cape Girardeau, but moved to Perry County after the war. He was wounded outside of Waynesville. He must have been considered an old man in the company as he was 35 yrs old and had 6 kids when he enlisted.
