3rd Wisconsin Cav.

In tracing the postings of the 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry regiment in 1864 I have encountered named forts in which I have no idea where they were. Would anyone know where the following forts were: Fort Curtis, Mo., Fort Hamer, Mo., Fort Insley, Mo., and Fort McKean, Mo. Of course they were posts found along the Kansas/ Missouri border; yet the maps I have seen thus far do not indicate them. Furthermore, the records show that each post held only a company of the 3rd Wisconsin, thus indicating to me that they had either a stockade or a mound of dirt bult much like Bxter Springs in Kansas. Thanks!
