In the FWIW category, Platte railroad bridge accident killed several in Sept 1861 attributed to guerilla action on the bridge. Also 3rd Wisconsin Cav lists 12 killed in train accident March 27 1862, I don't have a location listed but they were in Missouri about that time with Fremont if memory serves.
