Born 15 Jan 1838 Georgia, Died 9 Jan 1929, Son of William J Thompson and Margaret Holmes. Buried Mt Zion Cemetery Olden, Howell Co MO. Missouri Death certificate #1362 see: http://www.sos.mo.gov/images/archives/deathcerts/1929/1929_00001409.PDF

Given that information: He appears in the 1860 Census with his parents in dwelling number 1164 in Mountain Spring, Jackson Twsp, Carroll Co Arkansas. In 1870 He is in Dent county MO and in 1880 through 1929 he is in Sisson Howell Co MO.

He has a draft record July 1863 which puts him in Rolla MO. He apparently married in 1863 after the draft census was done. He appears in the 1890 census of vets in Howell Co. he has a BLM land grant registered in Ironton for 80 acres 22 June 1889. He has an additional grant of 155 acres, 10 Jun 1892, Howell Co.

FWIW his epilepsy must not have been too bad as he lived to 90.
