The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Charles "Ki' Harrison and Capt. Carroll H. Woo

In the Civil War Diary of a Batesville girl, she writes of Carroll Wood marrying Nannie Wilson at the home of her step father William Byers, Catalpa Hall. His best man was Frank James. They had been members of the same church in Missouri and had been schooled by the same circuit teacher - subscription schooling. Carroll H Wood and Frank remained solid friends the rest of their lives with Frank coming to visit often. In fact he taught school at Calico Rock in Izard county, a job secured by his friend Carroll Wood and Osby Dillard. Information held at the Independence County Regional Museum, Batesville, Arkansas.
