I was able to decifer this from his extensive hand written file:

Granville H. Wilson statement made June 11, 1863 while a prisoner at Gratiot St. Prison, St. Louis.

43 year old resident of Randolph County, Missouri, born in Randolph County. Arrested June 6, 1863, accused of knowing of the presence of armed Rebels in “my vicinity” and failing to report to the U. S. Troops.

“I was never in arms against the United States. I was never sworn into the Rebel service”

I took the oath of allegiance to the United States, about the ___ day of Sept., 1862 at the time of my
enrollment in the E. M. M.”
