From a family book, Jesse died from the measles and was buried in Fredericksburg, VA. Some family researchers give 1862 as the year, I've yet to find his actual burial site.

Hadskey's research states he did not leave with the company, I'm assuming this was Aug/Sept 1861.
Jesse's brother-in-law, 1st. Sgt. Martin R. Buckley, remained with the 7th. and was killed at Resaca.
