Chalmers' Brigade at Shiloh

A gentleman posting on the Illinois board had asked what Confederate ("rebel") units at Shiloh fought against his ancestor's regiment, the 55th Illinois. During the middle of the day on April 6th, the 54th Ohio and 55th Illinois defended a ridge east of the Hamburg road against attacks by Chalmers' Mississippi Brigade.

Anyone familiar with actions of this brigade at Shiloh may wish to post a reply.
