Hello Gary - I have the CMSR for William B. Malone. They show he enlisted Oct 26, 1861 at Grenada, Miss in the 1st Batt'n Miss Sharp Shooters, Capt Leigh's Company. He was present on Dec 31, 1861. On the Apr 30, 1862 Muster Roll for Co. L, 15 Regt Mississippi Vols he was shown as absent and missing since Apr 7, 1862. It is my understanding that Company participated in the Battle of Shiloh and Apr 7th was the 2nd day of the battle. If it were known he was killed at Shiloh would that have been recorded on his CMSR? Are there any records of those who died in those hospitals you listed and if so can you check them to see if his name appears?
