Let me see if I can make this as clear as mud for you. According to Rowland, Military History of Mississippi, the Lula White Rebels entered Confederate service 7MAY62, as Co I, 2nd Mississippi Cavalry and noted as 4th in official reports. Which is not to be confused with the official 4th Miss. Cavalry regiment. Furthermore for at least a short time the Lula White Rebels were listed as being in the 38th Mississippi Infantry.
