Sir: read the diary it talks about a Capt.Vandiver that at one time was a Lt. for the 23rd Miss.Inf.co.E. then it mention a Parson Vandiver, A.C. Vandiver and Elisha's father who was also name Elisha H. Vandiver and he to was a Baptist preacher and what i have read A.C. was also a preacher. And both lived in Tippah Co Miss. I wounder who he was talking about ? The father or the son. Have you ever heard of another son and brother name Phillip D. Vandiver born 1829 Lawrence Tenn. death unknown wife name Ann Boaz.
