My research commenced recently when I located a very nice “first person” account about the “5th Confederate Battalion of Irish” that I inadvertently reported here previously as the “3rd” (sic) Confederate Battalion of Irish, because I knew they had been consolidated as the 3rd & 5th Confederate – for exactly what period of time, from when to when, is still VERY unclear. So, in other words Alan, I am collecting viewpoints and trying to interpret, which has been developing into a nice pattern. I’ll be glad to report back when I have more data.
