The Mississippi in the Civil War Message Board

Re: 7th Mississippi Web Site moved

I'm doing good James, thanks for asking. I don't post much anymore because I simply have so many irons in the fire.

I have been exchanging email this past few days with a fellow 7th Mississippi descendent who had an Mississippi ancestor who moved to Indiana before the war and enlisted in the Union army when the war started. Seems he was in the same battles as many of his kin but on opposite sides. He was taken P.O.W. and sent to Andersonville. Released in April 1865 he caught a ride home on the Sultanna. I know you how that ended up but his ancestor did survive.

That's just another reason our research on the 7th Mississippi is so important to me. I figured you would get a kick out of that story. I promise to stop by and say howdy on the N&V board sometime.
