Captain Joseph C. Clayton was the brother of General H. D. Clayton and they lived in Eufaula, Al.
Captain Joseph C. Claton was in the 39th Alabama Infantry. I do not know much about him, but I understand that some of the Clayton family still live in Eufaula, Al. You might try contacting the Historical Society there, or the Library and see if they can give you any more informtion.
