When I said I had all,I guess I lied....got me on that one....I will try very hard to find it for you...Must be a good account.That battle is confusing & the actions the next day are confusing. When reading about Forrest you have so many players in the action ,covering this road and that road,this angle & that angle.The man was a genuis....in one of the letters Col.Polk said that he really had no more "problems" with Forrest because he whippped those "rascally Yankees".Col. Polk was West Point & you are quite aware of Forrest & West Pointers. Obviously they became good friends because they stopped at the Pillars everytime they passed thru Bolivar,TN. & my grandmother (Col.Polks wife) fed them put them up for the night. Forrest had nothing but "praise" for my grandmother. She roomed 40 troopers in that home one night, all Forrests men. When Col.Polk was not with Forrests band,a Capt.Otey would deliver Col.Polks mail to my grandmother...&..vice-versa. He was my grandparents "mailman.
