I thank you for pointing me in that direction! I have heard the name of this supplier many times in the hobby, but have yet to check them out. I will definitely call them tomorrow afternoon and see if they can be of help with any info. I know that there is not much available on detailed information about the 42nd beyond the unit roster/muster and the chronological locations of where they participated in action, picket, and garrison duty, so it can become tedious and frustrating to find anything beyond that. I would like to be able to at least get a general outline for uniform standards for the regiment, however they were not formed until April of 62, and this about the same time that blockades were taking their toll on available materials and many men upon enlistment were told to bring whatever they could from home, however I am not certain if this was the case for the 42nd Miss.

I have heard rumor that the standard was a butternut wool with sky blue piping at the collar and possibly jacket cuff, sky blue issue pants, and black or brown slouch or planter hats. I want the reenactors in my unit to be able to portray the best possible accuracy however, and it would be great to have some sort of confirmation. Obviously many confederate soldiers in primarily all regiments and states reached a point where uniformality was not as prevalant so long as there were men to carry rifles, so the much varried and individualism of a soldier's clothing made virtually most regiments indistinguishable from each other. I rather like the mid to late war look that this creates but still would like to know.
