Three words George...He Was There.I do not know the specifics of this Diary or the incident but from my own experience in checking the details of other,"Seasoned Historians" primary sources or lack thereof I have found errors of interpretation and or omission or perhaps there was an agenda.In addition,many authors simply repeat what others have written over and over again.As a result I believe half of what I read today regardless of the author.After all it is still a business and there are editors...I strongly urge all those with a serious interest in any specific incident to seriously question any author's interpretation until checked out in detail by yourself.

My investigation method;

1.Check out the author's primary sources and then find all those not used.
2.Forget everything that happened afterward.Its irrelevant.Never happened.
3.Put yourself in that place and apply common sense.
