I am trying to learn of the Scruggs men who may have signed for the Confederacy out of Desoto and Tate Counties circa 1861....I know that a number of other relatives signed on in Sept 1861 our of Iuka and were under a Hewitt or Huit, as it is spelled differently on two different muster roll cards...however, I do know that many traveled to other areas to sign on. I am particularly interested in learning if a Stephen Scruggs might have served.....?
